Beauty and the Feet =D

I love wearing sandals and flip flops. I have no problem showing my toes as long as they are up to par. One of my pet peeves is to see a woman with the cutest pair of sandals on their feet and then have ashy, dried, looking feet. :(

They are not exactly looking good from head-to-toe. You don't have spend a lot of money to make your feet look its best. I really can't afford to have my feet done professionally all the time. Nonetheless, just because I am on this thing call a budget, that doesn't mean I have to have hammertime going on in my show. Hammertime is another terminology for dry, cracked, skin built up around the toes, and callouses galore on your feet.

That said, I have an at home do-it-yourself pedicure that should take you about 30 minutes of your time. It's a small amount of time to sacrifice out of your busy schedule to have soft, smooth, and shiny feet.

A few things you need to keep in mind when giving yourself a pedicure are
Soak. Exfoiliate. Soak. Wash. Soak.

Now for your Do-it-Yourself Pedicure:
Step 1 - Fill your foot tub up with water so that the water will come just above your ankles.

Step 2 - Add a package of foot soak to your water, which can be purchase at any store. You don't need a particular brand.

Step 3 - Soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes. Soaking your feet will soften dead skin.

Step 4 - Using your favorite body/sugar scrub, exfoiliate, exfoiliate, and...you got it...exfoiliate. This will scrub away dead skin cells, while rejuvenating and refreshing your feet.

Step 5 - Wash off the dead skin. This is also the best time to use your foot file and scrape away the dead skin on your toe nails.
Step 6 - Clean feet and dry off with towel. As an added bonus apply some of your favorite body oil on your feet for the perfect finishing touch, which will leave your feet feeling silky and smooth.

So, don't be afraid to do-it-yourself when it comes to your own pedicure. You may not always have time or the money to get your feet done professionally. Either way, at least you have a back-up plan.

My motto is...We want Happy Feet not Stinky feet.

Here are a couple more tips: To abolish stinky, funky bacteria add 2 cap full of witch hazel in your foot soak; Or to get rid of problem feet such as Athelete's Foot or nail fungus, add just a cap full of bleach in your foot soak.

Blessing to you!!

Today's Beauty Tip ~ Baby Oil Skin

God has given our bodies to us as a gift and a temple. We should honor Him by being good stewards over it and by trying to look our best as much as possible. Our appearance is a reflection of God and who He is. Besides, we are made in His image.

Therefore every Tuesday I will do my best to give you tips, hints, and information that can enhance the beauty that God has given you.

Let's kick it off with Baby Oil Skin.

Baby oil is one of the best things you can use for your skin. It's a great sealant. When you take a shower, leave your body damp, and apply baby oil. This will lock in the moisture. Any brand of baby oil will do the trick.

If you want to double the moisture for your skin, after oiling down follow up with an intense not-so thick lotion. It really does my body good. It makes me feel really fresh and vibrant.

By the way, don't forget those stubborn spots like your heels, knees, and elbows. Baby oil is the way to go, especially if you want to get those dry, stubborn areas under control.
