Celebrating Thanksgiving Edition #5 ~ Fun Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids

When I used to teach preschool, my little tiny tots (students) would be so excited about Thanksgiving crafts. We would make crafts that would be so cute for decoration. They were fun, quick, and very easy to make. Handmade decor has a special way of adding sentimental flair to the holidays.  Here are a few of my favorites I saw on Pinterest.

Celebrating Thanksgiving Edition #4 ~ Green Bean Casserole Renegades

Like many of you, I like to cook green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. My husband and children love this dish. Every year I cook it pretty much the traditional way. Besides additional seasoning, my recipe is basic, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and the fried onions.

Mine looks somewhat like this. :)

But, now I noticed people are defying the tradition of the almighty green bean casserole!! This is unheard of!!!  (Too dramatic?) Anywho, they have added twists in a way I thought was unimaginable. These recipes have inspired me to take my green bean casserole to whole nother level. Check them out!!!

It's undercover with all its new added tasty twists.

Now, do you see why I am tripping? It's like there a whole new world beyond the traditional Green Bean Casserole!! I don't know how, but I think I will be adding a few tasty twists of my own that my family won't be able to resist!! How do you cook your GBC? Do you do anything besides the norm?

Celebrating Thanksgiving Edition #2 ~ Too Cute for Turkey

One of the things I am loving about Thanksgiving right now is the creative minds of so many people. Some people can simply come up with the darndest and cutest idea and I love it. In my previous post, I stated how I am all about the cooking. I don't exactly focus on anything else like decor or attire. But, I have to say I have came across a couple of the most adorable outfits. I just wish my children were still little babies because I would dress them up in these cutie patootie outfits. Of course, they probably would disowned me in their adult years.  LOL!!

Did these outfits make your heart melt?  Or what?!?  Do you have a favorite?  I love all of them.  If you came across some cute and adorable Thanksgiving inspired attire, please share.

Celebrating Thanksgiving Edition #1

October has been a very, very busy month for me. We celebrated birthdays, special events, and so many other things that made the time fly by like hot cakes. Now that it's November, I am hoping to get a few post in based on Thanksgiving, which is one of my favorite holidays.

Thanksgiving is the holiday I love to go all out with cooking. I like to prepare my menu at least 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Once I finalized the menu, I write a shopping list of everything I will need. I normally, do the shopping a week before the holiday.

During my quest for ideas for my Thanksgiving menu, I was able to come along some great ideas for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to share them with you. Hopefully, you may become inspired. If you have any tips, neat tricks, or ideas of your own, please feel free to share.

Every year, my husband, Larry, deep fries a mean turkey. It's delicious!! I prefer not to eat it any other way. Larry likes to fry the turkey in peanut oil. We have tried canola oil, but it doesn't seem to do the turkey justice. However, to each their own. I came across a Deep Fried Turkey Recipe at MyRecipes.com. So, if you haven't tried frying your turkey, go for it!! You won't be sorry!!!
